Als sie voller Stolz den Froschpulli trägt, den sie von ihrer Oma geschenkt bekommen hat, wird sie von den anderen Kindern ausgelacht. Manchmal nervt sie ihr kleiner Bruder, dann wieder geht sie gemeinsam mit Tommy auf Gespensterjagd. Laura ist ein ganz normales Mädchen, das man ? gerade wegen ihrer kleinen Schwächen ? sofort ins Herz schließt. Wenn sie ein Problem hat oder im Grunde ihres Herzens weiß, dass sie einen Fehler gemacht hat, aber sich nicht traut, ihn einzugestehen, ruft Laura ihren Stern um Hilfe an. Die phantasievollen Geschichten sind einfühlsam erzählt und liebevoll gezeichnet. Ob es um ernsthafte Themen wie die Angst vor dem Krankenhaus, Lügen und Heimlichkeiten oder ganz normale Alltagssituationen geht -- immer treffen die Geschichten den richtigen Ton und vermitteln kleine Lebensweisheiten, ohne dabei belehrend zu wirken.
